Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Mimu app and related services ("Mimu", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Mimu you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Mimu.

1. Who can use Mimu

You must be an adult (18 or the age of majority in your country). Mimu is for parents and legal guardians: you may only add photos of a child you are the parent or legal guardian of, or whose parent or legal guardian has authorized you. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.

2. Your account

You can sign in with Apple or with a one-time code or link sent to your email address. You may delete your account at any time from the app (Settings), which deletes your children's profiles, photos and portraits.

3. Portrait sessions

Mimu creates portraits of your child as the character and scene you describe, using artificial intelligence. Results are generated automatically and can vary; a session includes one round of adjustments for up to two portraits. Some requests may be refused by our AI provider's safety systems; when that happens we tell you and the session is given back to your account. Portraits are AI-generated images and carry provenance metadata that identifies them as such.

4. Packs and payments

Sessions are sold in packs through Apple's App Store as consumable purchases. Prices are shown in the app before purchase, in your local currency. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Each session is spent when you ask for it, and is given back automatically if it delivers no portraits. Unused sessions stay in your account while it exists; they have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; when Apple refunds a pack, the sessions it added are removed from your account (portraits already delivered stay yours).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: upload photos of a child without the authority described in section 1; upload photos of adults or of anyone other than the child of the profile; request sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise harmful content, or content that sexualizes or endangers children; use portraits to deceive, harass or impersonate anyone; try to access other people's accounts or data; reverse engineer or disrupt the service; or use automated means to access it.

6. Your content and the portraits

You keep ownership of the photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process them only to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Subject to these Terms and to the rights of others, you may use the portraits created for you for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as keeping, printing and sharing them with family and friends. When you ask for a character or work that belongs to someone else, you are responsible for using the portraits in a way that respects those rights.

7. Community and feedback

The feedback space (Community, Ideas, Bugs) has its own Community Guidelines, which you accept before posting. Never post photos of children or information that could identify a child. We may moderate, hide or remove content and suspend posting for anyone who breaks the guidelines. Contribution rankings and medals are symbolic and have no monetary value.

8. Changes and availability

We may update Mimu and these Terms. We will notify you of material changes in the app. We try to keep Mimu available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Mimu is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country.

10. Termination

You may stop using Mimu at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

11. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence where required by mandatory law. Questions: support@mimumagical.xyz.
